Student Reflections
(Quoted exactly as written by students in their official course evaluations.)
"The best thing about Dr. Jung and her classes is how enthusiastic she is about the material and subject matters. I would recommend the class, Dr. Jung is an amazing professor, she gives us the tools to be successful in her class, I've grown to admire her as a profession and admire her work as well." (PSCI 206 Comparative Politics, Spring 2025)
"One of the best aspects of this course was that, since it was a Global Encounters class, it focused more on learning through listening and discussion rather than being assignment-heavy. It gave students a chance to explore the topic without a lot of pressure. The professor was extremely kind and encouraging, and created a welcoming space where students felt comfortable sharing their thoughts. It was a great class for getting a brief overview of the subject and seeing if you’d be interested in learning more about it in the future. Her energy and interest in the subject. Her relations to real life made it much more interesting. Overall best instructor I've had in a while! Wonderful class 10/10" (PSGE 315 Politics in Asia, Spring 2025)
"Dr. Jung is so nice, and I learned a lot in her class. Data analysis is such an important skill, and Dr. Jung teaches it in an interesting and digestible way." (PSCI 360 Political Analysis, Fall 2024)
"This instructor was incredibly prepared and always had many graphs and images to supplement her lectures." (PSCI 131 The Rise of Populist Politics, Fall 2024)
"Professor Jung is very knowledgeable on the topics she teaches so that was amazing. She also sets up her classes to make learning as easy as possible. She is very communicative and would work with her students." (POL 1400 International Relations Fall 2023)
"Professor Jung was amazing. She was constantly engaging and enthusiastic. She created a very positive class environment. She was also really understanding and receptive to any suggestions or clarifications. She also took the time to answer our questions and get to know us as individuals." (POL 2700 Comparative Political Systems, Fall 2022)
"Professor Jung is incredibly passionate about this subject and helped me cultivate a deep and vibrant understanding of Chinese politics. She values discussion and a variety of view points in class and helps foster student growth and participation. She has been one of the most encouraging professors to me personally this semester!" (POL 4680 Chinese Politics and Foreign Policy, Spring 2022)
